The Ecomuseum of Valsesia comprises two territorial entities:

Mollia watermillEcomuseum of the territory and Walser culture

which includes the territories of the High Sesia Valley characterised by the Walser culture: Alagna, Riva valdobbia, Rima, Rimasco, Carcoforo, Rimella and part of the territory of the Natural Park of Alta Valsesia, with the addition of the boroughs of Campertogno, Mollia and Rassa

The itinerary on the traces of the Walser people - the ethnic group of German origin who colonised the high valleys of Valsesia in the XIII century - follows, ideally, the colonisation of the Valsesia in its temporal and geographical route visiting the most important places.

26 interpretative panels placed in the area will help the visitor to read the "signs" left by these "colonisers of the high peaks".

taragn bv 16Ecomuseum of the territory and peasant material culture of the Low Sesia Valley

which includes the territories of the boroughs of Breia, Cellio and Valduggia - Zuccaro with part of the territory of the Natural Park of Mount Fenera and its houses with hay roofs, the famous "taragn".

Beside the Walser heritage the Ecomuseum of Valsesia proposes an itinerary to discover the material signs of the peasant culture and the archeological-industraial identity of the Lower Sesia Valley.

Among ancient trades and new working activities, magnificent oratories and rural constructions, relive the customs and genii of a time in which the need of the material culture went hand in hand with creativeness.
